Sony have announced a recall (well, free repair of faulty units) on a selection of older Cybershot cameras:
DSC-F88, DSC-M1, DSC-T1, DSC-T11, DSC-T3, DSC-T33, DSC-U40 and DSC-U50.
A few more details here, but I can't find it on the official Sony sites yet.

Hmm, I hoped they'd finally recall the DSC-P1 and F505 too.
Those have a battery loading system (in-camera) that damages the info-chip for the info-lithium system. My P1 was 'repaired' several times, but they cannot solve it. Not that it matters anymore, because the camera is so old that hardly anyone still uses it, but for me it is one of the zillion reasons to avoid Sony products.

So what happens if you don't know if your camera has the fault or not? You send it in and then get billed? Some kind of recall that is. Ptish. |

Hence I said it was more of a free repair than a recall, but hey, I suspect they won't have that many cams coming in, given how old they are now.
