I am so sorry. I found this and the original thread too late. I read through the original and find my self devasted. I can not imagine and am so sad for you and your family that you have to go through this. I wish I could say something uplifting but I am just so sad.

I am very saddened to hear of Rose's passing. My thoughts are with you.
When your friends phone or knock on your door, resist the urge to shut them out as I once did. Let them in to console you and you them.
A shared tragedy can eventually build strength. Take care of each other.

I have always found comfort in these words that I heard so long ago.
They were spoken by Patricia Neal in the pilot of the TV show "Little House on the Prairie"
"Remember me with smiles and laughter
for that is how I'll remember you all
But if you remember me only with tears
then don't remember me at all."
