What are my options for a wireless remote for the Pentax istDL?

I have seen the infrared ones, but I would like to go with something that I don't have to point at the camera and something that would have a little distance.

Something like this one I found on ebay.
//cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260053430479&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Fquery%3D260053430479%26MfcISAPICommand%3DGetResult%26ht%3D1%26ebaytag1%3Debayreg%26srchdesc%3Dn%26maxRecordsReturned%3D300%26maxRecordsPerPage%3D50%26SortProperty%3DMetaEndSort%26fvi%3D1

Any others for my camera?

Well, I haven't seen those radio-controlled ones before, but I wouldn't be able to shell out that kind of money for one.
So I just use the infrared remote, in pictures such as this:

Nice photo,

I really don't want to spend that kind of money eather, lol..

Hope there is another option or I will just give the infrared a try.

I was thinking if I set the camera up say near a bird feeder or for other wildlife shots that I may not always be in a spot to trip it with a infrared remote.

I see. Apparently the infrared will work from behind the camera as well, though I haven't tried it out since I read about it.

Could you give that a try for me?

I was just going by the book the read to point it at the front of the camera. It also say's it has a working distance of about 5 meters.

How far away does your work?

Yes, it works from behind the camera, at least 5 metres (I couldn't get back too far inside).
