Ok, part 1 of this weeks DPC podcast has been uploaded to the podcast site for your listening pleasure. Part 2 will be available shortly after the DPC rollover tonight. In Part 1, Laurie Gaddis (L2) and I chat with guest co-host Manic about last weeks trivia challenge answers, the DPC Fanatics community project, behind the scenes of the site council, clarification of new editing rules, how photos are disqualified, and how new challenge topic are selected for DPC. In part 2 to air soon after roll over, I interview Shannon Calvert (aka scalvert) in a "getting to know you" interview style that I think everyone should hear!
You can listen to the show at:
www.dpcpodcast.com
or you can direct link to Part 1 by clicking the link below:
Part 1
NOTE: The DPC Podcast does not require any special software to play. If you can play mp3 files (which nearly all computers do) then you can play the podcast!

Woo! It's strange listening to my own voice (though I think everyone thinks that), but this was great fun to make. Hope everyone enjoys listening to it :o)

Just finished listening to it and thought it was great. Really enjoyed the insight into the life as a SC.
Keep up the great work guys!
Hey Manic when are you coming to Australia ? You could add at least 10 more to your list of DPC members met.

I think there would be more chance of me meeting you in London :)
Anyway at the moment we have enough English tourist here with the cricket about to start this week.

Thanks for the feedback on part 1. Every episode the feedback threads seem to take longer to get going but it is an important part of improving the show for us. Keep the comments coming.

One thing I've had from a coupla people (plus myself) is that the overall volume is still a little too low, so perhaps it should be equalised at a higher level in future?

I'll look into the volume issue. The problem is consistancy. I set the volume early on and record it with our spikes in volume peaking into the red on the equilizer but sometimes, throughout the interview, we all start getting softer and that's the part I haven't been able to control of late...adjusting the level midway through the episode.

I really didn't understand the "chat" part of that site. 10 people there and nobody was chatting. |

Most of us are chatting from work during the day and sometimes...horror of horrors...we actually have to do some work. It's fairly tragic but you just have to catch us at the right time. Sometimes evenings are better. |

You're welcome to ask questions or start a topic if you want to! The place is a free-for-all, and multiple conversations happening at the same time are not uncommon, so talk about whatever you want :o)

Before anyone asks about it, iTunes is working correctly again.

I listened to the podcast on my way to work this morning. Manic's recollection of the events comprising the Great Favouriting Lottery Fiasco are inaccurate.
My lawyers will be contacting Manic's lawyers. All lawyers will profit greatly and no resolution will be reached.
Thank you for your time. :-)
P.S. I enjoyed both parts of episode 8 very much. Nice work!
P.P.S. The concept of Shannon's "idea-hording" seems very accentric to me. Very interesting. Maybe should put someof these ideas up for auction on eBay? ;-)

Just wanted to take time to say thank you for these interviews. It's really enjoyable, informative and fun to hear people that we know from DPC. Keep up the good work.
If you put Strikeslip on your list you'll have to allow for his rather large head. :) |

Yes. At least three extra slots should be pre-planned for. If I ever win another ribbon, extra slots will most likely be needed. :-D
