Well, my local resort has decided that 20 inches of snow isn't enough to open. This is pretty much what I expected them to do. They really don't care about skiers, all they really want to do is build condos.
Guess I'll head to Wolf Creek for Thanksgiving instead.

WHISTLER = THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH
just got back from opening day...despite the lines and crowds early, it was a truly magical day. fresh tracks through deep powder were easy to find all day long. there isnt usually a snowbase this deep til late december. christmas has come early!

I know I'll be up at Whistler on Saturday. Photos will have to wait until I've gotten my fill of powder, however.
So, how many other snow bums frequent DPC? Where's your home mountain? Do you shoot while you ride?

Hey, I've been in that exact same spot!
Last December I went snowboarding at Whistler/Blackcomb and had a blast. At the time I had a Powershot S2 IS--what a great camera to bring on your person while snowboarding. You did a great job on the panorama image...post more throughout the season.
By the way, I'm in southern California, so when we have the urge for a spontaneous snow trip, we go to the local mountains for snowboarding/skiing (Bear Mountain), only 2 hours away. Otherwise we can go to Mammoth in the Sierra's, or Colorado, or BC.

From torrential rain to snow.... At least you don't have a windchill of -32. |

And yet, in Minnesota, it's 48 and pouring rain. Very bizarre. (Not that I'm complaining!) |
