I was up on Otley Chevin in Yorkshire yesterday, on my way home from a client meeting, and was taking some photos to explore HDR. However, I saw this shot and decided it would look much more interesting if I moved it to B&W, simulating TRI-X and going for more monochrome than pure greyscales. I was trying to capture the sense of exposure and desolation of the chevin and the feeling of awe and respect the Yorkshire Moors command. I like the shot but wondered how others would feel about it?

I love it. I can hear The Wolfman in the distance. Well, I'm sure I'll hear him as soon the full moon rises. Which is cool because he still owes me fifty bucks from a bender, two years ago.
The shot, while tight has a nice sweeping feel. The contrast between the sky and the ground lends a nice dramatic effect. Great work.

Man, that wasn't Wolfman! That was the bearded lady you met at the circus - and she says you owe her! That sparkle in her eye when she said that worried me, though.... |
