Woo Hoo!

Just got back from my first DPC get-together with DPC member Amphian. She is currently visiting the UK and we met for dinner in central London and chatted our way through a few very pleasant hours - we even talked about photography a little!

This is my first DPC meet (I have met friends from other sites many many times over the years).

Well. I have met "Ganders" because I am married to him, and "Floyd" because he's one of my best buddies, but I don't think that counts!

Just wanted to share!

:)

And to add that if anyone in UK or anywhere else in the world is passing through London to drop me an email if you'd like to meet up!

Obviously this isn't a rant - more a rave - but I couldn't think which forum to post it in!

Shame no one had any more input to the field trip idea.

No pictures.

What you have to remember is that while we are both photographers, we aren't necessarily keen on having our own photos taken. Mostly behind the camera. The one on my profile is a rare thing in that I like it!!!

And I'd still like to do a UK field trip.

I'd like a UK fieldtrip too.

That would have been called a snapshot, not a photography ;-) ;-) ;-)
But yes I understand.
What do you call a field trip ? Is it like people going together and taking picture of a specific subject ?

That's great that you two got together! I understand EXACTLY about which end of the camera to be. I would rather make pictures than have my mug put on an image....lol

I am Sooooooooooooooooooo jealous! Upstate New York is so beautiful, and Autumn is my favorite time of year. Crisp air, beautiful foliage, crisp apples, hay rides...ohh I really am jealous. I lived upstate for many years. Catskills, Adirondacks, and Hudson Valley. Where abouts will you be going? I'll be happy to make some suggestions if you'd like.

Kavey that sounds like a fun afternoon. How nice two you could hook up. Great fun! I hope anyone coming to Oregon will call and meet me for lunch. Like you I wouldn't want my picture taken either. :)

Hi Grayce!

We're actually headed to the Southern Tier/fingerlakes area and staying in Watkins Glen (above Corning). I'm not sure how familiar you are with that area, but if you are suggestions are certainly welcome!

I also get to the Hudson Valley periodically as I have a good friend in Poughkeepsie.

Terry, I'm not VERY familiar with the Finger Lakes region, but am a little bit. If you get a chance visit Letchworth State Park. It's dubbed "The Grand Canyon of the East." It really is lovely. The entire region is very pretty, and imo Fall is the best. You do realize of course, that you will be in wine country too. May get some good photo ops there too. Watkins Glenn is a very picturesque little town with a water fall in town. Ahhhhhh I really wish Hubby and I could go. We moved to Florida a year ago to be near family. Paradise is nice but I LOVE NY!!! Enjoy and think of me in steamy Florida while you and Barbara enjoy the crisp Autumn air. :-)
