My daughter is getting married next August 4th. We are hoping to secure a photographer by the end of November. I thought I'd post our search here, just in case any of you have interest in possibly being hired for the event. We are in Hamilton, Ohio - which is about 20 miles north of Cincinnati.

My budget for the photography is pretty generous, but not overwhelmingly so. The bride and groom have both agreed to pre-ceremony formals, and the wedding is an afternoon affair in a traditional church. Rather small wedding party ( 9, including the bride and groom.)

If you don't think you want to take on the full task, but might be interested in being a "second shooter" , you can let me know about that as well. We may or may not have an extra, depending on the policy of the main photographer and what we know he/she can provide for us.

I"ll probably bump this a few times this month. Thanks!

Judy

if you can't find anyone Judy, I have a friend that is pretty good at weddings and I could get you in contact with him. Let me know.

He gets booked pretty far in advance but you should check out Chris Keels.
He is awesome.
His style is more hands-off photojournalistic.
He did my wedding 3 years ago and is a great guy.
He ended up using one of the shots for his marketing material so it was fun to see us now and then on posters, cards etc.

Heck, buy me and my wife plane tickets and hotel lodging for 3-4 days around the event and I´ll do it for ya for free :)

It's about a 4 hour drive for me, but if you can't find anyone closer, by all means give me a shout, Judy.

Hey Judy, I will be very happy to be the "second shooter". It would give me great experience.

I will keep you in mind for a second shooter as we get closer to the date. I have a folder to keep all the responses in, but right now I'm mainly trying to secure the main photographer.

I've had several responses, but I don't think my budget will cover any type of travel costs. As it is, I'm hoping to keep the photography under the $1500 mark (including the album with prints.) Locally, I can get a nice package for $1,200 from a competent photographer with a lot of experience. I'd like to have a bit more creativity, but I guess I don't have the budget for that :)

We are keeping the entire wedding under $5,000, so the photography is actually a pretty large % of the budget. I believe it will be a fun, lovely, and beautiful wedding, but it will be beauty created on a budge :)
