Song of Solomon 2:1-2
[Beloved] I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
[Lover] Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens.
Andi:
May you be being blessed
each precious day
with your precious Rose.
With kind thoughts and prayers,
-Gary

Hi Andi,
Glad Rose's blood counts have improved and hope the anti nausea stuff does its job this time.
I'm sure there won't be a prouder Dad on Graduation day than you.
You know I am here for you for anything, anytime Andi.
Love, T XxX

I am very, very sorry to hear of your situation. I don't think there is anything that I can say that will make you feel better, or to answer why a young vibrant person should have to go through this as opposed to others who are certainly more "evil" or whatever.
What I have learned is that Rose's and your attitudes will have a huge difference in how things play out. There is something to be said for rising to meet adversity. I am sure that in a very strange way you will see many new and different sides of yourself, and a strength that you surely did not know you had.
I wish there was something that I (and everyone here) could do to help you. Unfortunately all we can do is be your sounding board and be here for you when you need release. Do not be afraid to count on your friends.
When my father passed away when I was 17 I listened to "The End" by the Doors over and over and it was not a healthy way to deal with my pain. When my sister passed away at 36 with epilepsy (leaving 4 children under the age of 10) I listened to the REM song "Everybody hurts". It was a much more healthier choice for me to relate my loss to.
I hope that you can find what you need to be able to feel truely consoled and loved during this time. Be strong for your wife and of course for Rose. Enjoy what time you have and get lots of great photos and video.
My heart goes out to you.
Be well.

I just sat and read this entire thread from the beginning back in June to now. Roseann when you talked about your dad I cried. It wasn't long after that one that I went to my 6 year old son and gave him a kiss and told him I love him.
Now that I have finished reading the rest of the thread, I wanted to let you know that you can add me to the list of those who are praying for you and your family. Rose is a beautiful young lady and I know you are so proud of her accomplishments.
I am going to say a prayer of thanks that there are so many people in this thread who have expressed their warm wishes. I am going to thank God for the time you have been able to spend with her since finding out that your time may be limited. I am going to pray that God lays his healing hand on your precious Rose to bring a miracle to her so that her wedding day is painless and joyful. I am going to pray that you find comfort and guidance in the Bible as Southern Gentleman suggested. I am going to pray that if things begin to take a turn for the worse and Rose needs to go home to her maker that you are able to let her go as gracefully as God let his son go for you. I am going to pray that you find the lord as your savior so that you can be with Rose again in heaven.
Tell Rose, your wife, and Rose's fiance that I am praying for you all.
Sheryll

Thanks again to all that still take the time to read and post in here, this is a place I come to often where I can be alone with my thoughts Thanks again to all that still take the time to read and post in here, this is a place I come to often where I can be alone with my thoughts and also be with so many caring people that don't know either Rose or myself.
Talj posted earlier sayings things were hard, I guess I should explain that Rose is back in hospital. I was unaware that Rose had been in decline for over a week (you can hide so much when talking/texting) but ever since graduation she had been having difficulty walking or using her right arm.
Whilst she cannot walk right now things have improved since the phrase 'paralyzed on the right side' was used and she is being transferred to Clatterbridge Hospital (her Oncology Hospital) for an MRI scan in the morning, the CAT scan shows swelling and her steroids have been increased 16 fold (they were being reduced).
basssman7 this may sound weird but I listen to REM and "Everybody Hurts" will remain a favourite song for me, Rose Emma Mcgill, 'rapid eye movement' and it was when Rose was diagnosed with epilepsy that the tumour was found. Oh, and I live just a few miles from peterborough (though different continents).
Here is a shot of Rose outside the Roman Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King after collecting her Degree.

I prayed for Rose twice today. It was just a feeling that she was in need again and I prayed. I prayed for a miracle but, her fiance keeps coming up in my thoughts. How is he doing with all of this? And as a mother I also think of your wife and how she is doing. Andi I am praying and will keep praying for all of you. I am circling you with my arms and Gods love. Hang in there...

Tali please pass on to Andi that tonight (Thursday) I had bible study with a small group as I do every Thursday. I told them about him and Rose. We usually talk about prayer requests then hold hands and go around the circle praying for all those things verbalized. We prayed for Rose and for Andi tonight. I got home and logged in to DPC and I saw the new posts here so God is working his ways and no matter what happens God is right there with him. Right there with open arms. I am and have been praying for them just as there are so many others are here at DPC. |

In a PM to me, Natalya wrote...
Dear All:
It is with great sadness that I write this message.
Rose had a very bad night and in the early hours of this morning suffered a cardiac arrest. She was 'saved' but she will not be revived again.
Thank you all for your kind messages. Please keep Rose and the family in your thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Natalya

I am not a religious man, but I am a father with a son & daughter of my own, I CANNOT EVEN imagine what you are going through at this time. Just be strong for her in these last hours/days, even if she is not awake she probably knows that you are there with her.
And I daresay I speak for everyone saying all our thoughts are with YOU right now.
Take care.
