I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Galway Downs three day horse sporting event in Temecula, California this weekend. My supppper friend, photonurd ,is a fabulous photographer and writer for Chronicle of the Horse (www.chronofhorse.com) magazine and I was able to come along with him on this assignment!! I had an absolute blast and I can't wait to do it again. I hope you enjoy the shots :)

Great capture.
I'm sitting here in shock after reading your script about the 17 year old. So very sad.
I've only attended a couple events and the jumps they had were more forgiving. Are those type jumps typical?

Damn, she died? That really sucks, seems like a dangerous sport.. sitting on top of a psychotic 1000lb animal while it jumps over stuff it can barely clear...

ya, those are the typical jumps for the cross country courses. you're probably used to seeing the arena jumping with the different colored rails and stuff... those are much more forgiving indeed.
