I belong to a site that discusses a certain murder case. There is a crime scene photo that I have used Photoshop on that has me scratching my head. Is there anybody willing to look at the image, confirm I am going mad and tell me why I am finding what I am finding?

I don't want to upset anyone by posting it here on DPC...so anyone interested in helping me?

Wow I only expected one reply at most:))

It could be I am seeing things that are not there..but then so is my husband:) I have posted an image at the end of the thread I sent you all - it's small but if you zoom in perhaps you might see what we saw?

Can I see? lol

I do see the stick figure with a frowny face, a big curve, a dot and a scuff on the thumb. They don't look like they were drawn on, but rather cut into the skin, which explains the redness around the shapes. Hard to tell from the photo.

What are you seeing that's driving you crazy?

ok, you've piqued my curiosity too. Can I see what you're talking about?

Letters..as though someone had written on her hand and then washed it off, but the residue remains. Trouble is the photos are so low res...it's hard to tell whether the letters are actually there or the pixels are speaking to me:))

Where are you seeing those letters, Amber? I read that in your note, but couldn't find anything other than the obvious items I listed earlier.

link

I posted it here, but couldn't get the image any bigger. When I zoom in a little in PS they becaome clearer. The writing seems to follow the curve of the palm.

Thanks Sheryll - I see where you mean and I'll take a look.

It's interesting you mention a shoe pattern as a shoe print was found near the body and for along time they thought the print might be an intruder's as no one in the household said they owned a pair of hi-tech shoes. A longtime later the family admitted the son/brother owned a pair, so the print was probably innocent;)

I think the bruising near the thumb and wrist is to do with lividity of the body.

Lividity is the effect of gravity on blood. After death, all the loose blood in the body runs down to the lowest point of gravity. If the dead person is on their back, you'll notice these blueish-purple stains on their back. Lividity begins after only 3 hours. The spot on her wrist is probably not lividity. I would say its a bruise or a dirty mark or something else. I don't know but it would be unusual for lividity to be in a small spot like that and in an unusual place for it.
