| Just spoke to Mike. He is out of surgery, just woke up, feeling no pain, and waiting for the doctor to come see him. |

Now that we know Mike is safe, I just gotta say.....
Guys.... if you feel a pain that you KNOW is wrong, get to the hospital!! Mike hung around for quite a while yesterday which could have been lethal. My best friend lost her first best friend at 14 because she didn't get to a doctor when the pain started and her appendix ruptured. I'm grateful that Mike is safe and will be okay, but really, don't be crazy with your health, its too important.

I agree. Crystal had some bad pains while pregnant with our son Odin. she didn't want to go but i pestered her and threw a tantrum till she went. a few hours latter i was talking to a doctor while looking at my 4 month premature son. the doctor told me that they would have both been dead within 24 hours. It makes me sad just to think about the possibility. everyone hates doctors but aren't your children and or family worth it.
next time stop trying to be so tough Mike! |

This is good news (in the way that "Cryingdragon found dead at home" would not be!)... hope you have a quick recovery.
My mum wanted me to ask for my appendix in a jar to take home (I think her dad had put his on the mantlepiece?)... personally, I found the idea unattractive but asked anyway to appease mum - they said they couldn't, because it got sent to pathology - and for health and safety reasons. If it had ruptured, there wouldn't be much to look at anyway I suspect.

Thanks for the cards and wishes everyone. I'm back home now. I haven't had any pain drugs since before the surgery. No, I didn't take any afterwords. I don't have pics of the scars, yet, but I can take a photo of the shots they took during the surgery, if anyone wants to see my liver, appendix, and intestines :P
Also, the doc didn't think my appendix was about to burst. It was slightly enlarged, but nothing major. What got him was the amount of old scar tissue on it and the fact that it was attached to my intestines from the scar tissue.

Holy crap!
Mike, just because I've been out of the forums for a few days is no excuse to go get surgery!
The funny thing is that I stumbled into Cindi's get well card last night at random but had no idea of the context.
Glad to hear you're doing well! I already found your self-portrait, but now it's not really accurate, is it? I mean, it shows ya before parts were removed. ;) |

| Glad you're back and healthy. I didn't get any pics of my insides when they did mine, I'm jealous! Take it easy the next couple weeks. It sucks tying shoes for the first time, just wear sandals or slippers for a week or so if need be. It's good to get up and walk a little bit too, little by little. |
