Please take a look at these photos and let me know what you think.

This one is my first attempt at a "real" portrait. Its of my godson when he was born.

This one was a last second luck shot. And no this isn't my child. Boy would he be in trouble if he were.

Thanks for any comments.

OMG. The second shot is hilarious! What a great capture.

The first shot is very nice - lighting is great. My only negative comment is that his head looks a little squished - I guess that's the angle combined with the hat.

The second shot is a brilliant catch. made me laugh out loud. You should enter that in a few POTD sites - I'm sure it would win the 'action' category on a lot of them.

Welcome.

What is a POTD site and do you have any URLS for them. Glad you liked the photos. I agree that his little head does look a bit squished.

I sent you a PM separately. There are loads of Picture Of The Day sites about - some for prizes, some for fun. Two I regularly participate in are Shutterbugs and Digital Image Cafe you'll find instructions for entering on the sites along with links to plenty of other similar sites.

Good luck!

I especially like the first one. The B/W takes away the usual pink and seldom clear skin look of a newborn. Good Job.

The second one, I suppose, it would be too much to ask if you got about three more immediately following the incident. Be sure to give one to the "little" guy. My oldest boy was merciless to his younger brother while they were growing up. When he came home on leave from boot camp the youngest boy immediately gave him a body slamm and said,"We're even".

Actually what ended up happening he threw the sand was me running over to the little guy and seeing if he was ok. I run into this problem alot actually. I'm on the local fire department and have seen lots of really great photo opps. I end up choosing between doing something or taking photos of others doing something.

Its not really a hard choice that's why I rarely get photos of the action. The good side is I have been in plenty of them. Ahh well what can ya do.

Thanks for the comments.

The first picture is so precious. I love it! It really shows all his features.

The second one is so funny. Brothers can be so cruel. But what would you do without them.
