I was driving home from work yesterday and I had an idea I thought would be neat for a challenge. A sunset challenge in a 24 hour period. We would all go take creative photos of the "same" sunset from the same day. I think it would be interesting to see considering the global nature of the site. We could give people advance warning for the challenge so people in all time zones would be ready.

Please arrange to have no rain or overcast throughout the globe on that day. :-/

hmmm - I haven't seen even a hint of the sun in over a week now.

I didn't realize that the sun stops setting if there's clouds in the sky! :P

What if the challenge name were Twilight? Wait what's the definition of twilight, and what about the tilt of the earth! Forget I said anything!!! :P

with daylight savings time now in effect i can't get to my picture spots on time after work. A challenge would help me find a new spot.

Unfortunately, announcing a special 24-hour challenge and its topic in advance would make it possible for less-scrupulous individuals to reset the time/date stamp on their camera and actually shoot in advance of the announcement...

Don't the free study challenges present the same problems? I could set my camera today for some time in December if I wanted to, right? You're right though, I hadn't thought about that before.

What would be the point? Any given image would fit the free study for whatever month you're in.

The point would be what if I was in a place I wouldn't be in two months from now, and getting an amazing shot was easy. It's not that inconceivable I don't think. But what do I know?
