OK....so I'm brain dead at the moment. I shot a portrait that is 9.6 X 14.4 at 240 ppi (2304x3406ppi straight of the camera). I need to make it 8x10, but when I attempt to do so the crop results in losing too much from the top or from the bottom.....is there some way for me to get what I want?

Maybe this can help?. . .

Resizing Pictures to Standard Print Sizes

If you can clone the widths .. increase it on the sides

crop in the middle of the picture

choose a different aspect ratio (if the subject is such that it will not be affected if stretched a little)

I always create a new, blank 8x10, and then drag the image on as a new layer. That way I can toy with the sizing/cropping options from there.

Changing the canvas size should accomplish the same thing without having to create a new image.
