I still can't get it thru itunes and I can't figure out where my Itunes put the one I downloaded. How do I find it in my itunes library after I copy it over there?

Same problem here?

I'm not savvy on the iTunes issue but I think sea2c who created the dpcpodcast homepage designed it to work with iTunes so he probably knows the answer. I think there was a discussion about this before in another thread where he exlained a problem he was having with iTunes and a work around. You might want to search the DPC threads for iTunes and could probably find that thread. It was one of the older podcast threads. Hope that helps for now. Or you can try and PM sea2c or go to www.dpcpodcast.com and send an email to him from there.

I've noticed that over and over one of the biggest recurring constructive criticisms is that I don't do enough homework before the podcast. I think I understand the complaint. Often when I am speaking with a guest/host or about another photographer I will not know very much about the photographer or the subject and yet I'll sound off with my opinions on the subject and then I say something that most people already know and it comes off making me look a little stupid with my commentary. I totally understand that. My problem is that my hosts and I don't script the show too much. We have a general idea of what topics we'll cover but if my guest or co-host brings up a subject that I'm unfamiliar with I have elected to just run with it and do the best I can. In light of that, what would people suggest is the better of two options:

1) Script my show more so we know EXACTLY what we are going to talk about and we stick to the script. This would allow me a lot less chance of getting surprised by a topic and help avoid me coming off sounding like an idiot talking about something I have little knowledge.

2) If someone brings up a topic unscripted which I am not familiar with, shut up and let them do all the talking with very minimal commentary other than to agree or disagree with their position.

I'm trying to keep the show spontaneous (not too scripted) but I also realize that people tend to cringe when I say something really obvious. LOL. Which is the direction you think I should take?

A bit of both. Have a plan to follow...and then if something random crops up...sure...talk about it. But if it is say a 10 minute spread on one topic...after you have recorded it...check to make sure it is correct. That way you can still have the spur of the moment topics but you won't actually run anything that isn't viable.

iTunes for DPCPodcast.com:

This should still be working but as I'm at work I'm without the ability to test it out first. Should be as follows:
Open
iTunes and go to "Advanced | Subscribe" and enter in //www.dpcpodcast.com/podcasts/DPChallenge-TheUnofficialPodcast.xml
hit enter and you're good to go. Download the ones you haven't heard.

Please PM me if you find an issue. Don't keep filling these forums with issues from the dpcpodcast.com site. They aren't related. There are a few issues still to work out this week such as the comments page not coming up when you click on the comments link under each entry.

I've only listened to part 1, but I really enjoyed listening to it. It's refreshing to hear postitive and enthusiastic discussion about the site and the challenges and the particular shots.

Thanks again to all who are providing feedback here. I read every post of this forum and I'm encouraged by the comments so far.

Thanks again to sea2c for hosting the site and helping out with the technical difficulties. I feel like I'm going to have to start adding show notes at the end:

The show was recorded and produced by....with help from....Music provided by...webhosting provided by....technical assistance provided by....and in association with Time Warner....

Just a comment on the on the Critique Club part.... images to be critiqued get recycled every week. It's not a case of newer images being favored, it's simply that when the challenges recycle, so do the CC images. Anything older than a week moves on, it doesn't stay in line for ever.
