I have a photo open in pscs2.
I also have a Polaroid frame open within the same document.
I want to move the Polaroid over various parts of the photo and then extract only the Polaroid frame and the part of the photo that is within the frame and have it is a separate layer (in a new document or the same one, it doesn't matter)
Does that make sense?
Anyone know an easy way to do this?
I've been doing it, but it seems like I'm doing the very long way.
There has to be an easier way.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hmmm, that looks interesting, I'll have to check it out.
Thanks.

If the polaroid frame is on a sperate layer, you can just move it around and place it wherever you want. Then just crop around the frame and you'll have the frame and the image within it. Assuming you know that much about Photoshop.. Otherwise I'm sure someone here will be happy to do it for you, including me, if you like ;P I know this sounds time consuming, but it is more flexible than the action.

Last time I did this I used a square mask and moved it around cutting pieces..and then just put them within polaroid frames.

1. move frame to position
2. flatten image
3. make selection of framed portion only
4. drag selection to new, empty document

5. In history, revert to state 1
6. move frame again
7. repeat as above

You now have a new document with each framed sub-image on a separate layer. You may arrange these in the new document (including rotation, perspective, skew, whatever), and/or you may drag them back to the original document as new layers, or you may drag them to yet a third document as layers.

thanks bear and ignite,
that's pretty much what I was doing.

I just didn't know if there was a "cut out" option or something like that.
I know you "punch" holes through stuff and things like that, so I was just looking for a quick simple one button solution!!!
Lazy I know, but why not!!!!
