| Can someone tell me the difference between a Flash light meter and a Spot light meter? |

They are simply two features that can be found in light meters. A spot meter is metering a small area in the center of the view, usually 1-5 degrees of view. A flash meter is more generically a tool used to measure flash or strobe output. These meters usually have a PC or sync connection so that when you press the meter button, the strobes fire. Some flash meters can also be set to 'wait' for a strobe, and automatically measure the intensity.
For strobes I would reccommend an incident flash meter with an adjustable dome or filter (to measure flat or round objects).
I use the (pricey, but well worth it) Sekonic L-358, but you can find JTL units on eBay for relatively cheap, and they work well.
