I've turned in my notice at work and we're movin' out. As of 11/13/2006
just_me and I will officially be damn yankees living near Byron, Ga. She will be responsible for getting our studio up and running while I run around the country doing consulting gigs.
Hopefully, I'll be able to quit in 2 years, and we'll BOTH be shooting full time. Well, that's the plan at least.
Looking forward to meeting some of you Georgia folks at a GTG sometime in the future. |

Don't forget to come say hello to us North Floridians too. Good luck with the move and new business venture.

Hmmmm, where's Byron?? I'm sure you won't be missing the over abundance of MN snow too much. :) |

Welcome to the south! We just made the move from NW Iowa to south central Missouri for pretty much the same reason. I have a sister in Peachtree City which isn't too far from there. Pretty area. One of the hardest things to get use to is the soil is that rich black soil I'm use to. Good luck! |

Byron is about 15 miles south of Macon on interstate 75. We're actually probably closer to Warner Robbins. We turn off the freeway at the nudie cafe exit and will be living out in the country on 6 acres surrounded by woods.
Daughter and grandkids are sooooooo excited. |

Sounds lovely and you're not too far from Atlanta in case you ever needed to get into the city.
Looks like the grandkids will have lots of room to run around and play. :) |

Welcome to Georgia! I didn't know displaced Yankees were interested in moving south of the Gnat Line.
PS: Houston County, which is right near Byron, is pronounced "HOW-ston" not "HUE-ston" like in Texas. |

...so, did this help or hinder your search for the new home?
"close to school" check.
"close to grocery store" check.
"easy access to tons of pr0n in a converted Stuckey's" check.
"attached garage" check.
etc... |

Got that education when we went down for our daughters wedding 5 years ago. That, and all you ever wanted to know about boiled peanuts. |

PFFFFFFFFFFFT, MN to GA isn't like NYC to MS. Talk about a YANKEE in the South.
Good luck, hope it all works out. Wasn't bad for me. Now that I'm in Denver, there's times I actually miss MS. Good people, nice weather, yadda yadda yadda.

I'm guessing I won't be finding out what it's like inside. |

hmmmmm,
What they served us must have been a pretty poor rendition then. We got these soggy things that looked like squirrel turds and tasted like,... well, .... squirrel turds.

Reminds me of an old joke:
What's the difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee? The Yankee comes to visit. The Damn Yankee stays.
welcome to the South. |

Heard that more times than I can count.
How about his one: You can always tell a New Yorker, but you can't tell them nothing.

Don't know. Is it speak or talk there? |

Nope, that sounds about right. :-D And anything that is brought to you in a styrofoam cup wrapped in a paper bag can hardly be "served". LOL!! But after the second or third (possibly fourth) try, they'll grow on you. I guess you can say it's an acquired taste. LOL!!
