Are we allowed to find a few friends on the site and let them help pick photos out that we should enter. I see some definite conflicts of intrest, but it would be helpful. |

Ok I need some sort of expert photo buddy that can look at two of the images I have and help me make a decision. I am going to beat myself up over this! Are photobuddies even allowed? |
Photobuddies are OK as long as you help each other with images, but not (NO, NEVER) if you help each other by giving high scores to each other. |
That was from ursula. I replied in the other thread. |

A big part of the site is learning. Having a "photobuddy" or two can be quite helpful for this. There are a lot of people (Bear_Music comes to mind) who are always very, very willing to help out anyone who asks for help with photos.
That said, any attempt to sway votes is against the rules. In other words, if any two or more participants share images with each other and then go on to give each other 10s or higher than normal scores, it is against the rules and it will lead to penalties. It might take a while to be found out, but hopefully it will come to light and dealt with. So is the flipside, intentionally giving low scores in the attempt to keep a photo from ribbonning or similar situations.
As for choosing which image to enter to a challenge, in my personal experience it is usually best to try and develop you own sense of what works for you. You can ask someone else for an opinion as to which image to enter, but in general it is better to stick to your own guns when it comes to making this decision.

Thanks to those whom helped. It is all tied up as to which shot I should enter. So it is still up in the air...lol. I guess I will flip a coin? |
