I'm in.

Gotta say it - I can't stand Final Cut. Never could. Sounds like a collection of Waters-only throwaways from The Wall. It doesn't make me stab pencils into my ears, but I don't think I've played it more than two or three times in decades.

Let's see your top 5:

1) Animals
2) Dark Side
3) The Wall
4) Meddle
5) Wish You Were Here

gotta disagree about final cut.

1 final cut
2 wall
3 wish you were here
4 dark side
5 ummagumma

Yeah, that would be a cool challenge!

.

Alright...it's trivia time...speaking of Pink Floyd...

What was the name of the audio engineer for the "Dark Side of the Moon" album, and what successful band did he form that had 10 albums (not including their greatest hits) and a string of Billboard Top 100 singles from the late 70's to the late 80's?

How in the world did I miss this thread? I love the line that Art quoted from Brain Damage.

I like the crank it Waaaaaaaaaaay up for Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert. The Cry of "Incoming," followed by the explosion is better than watching a movie in Dolby. hehe

The Eye in the Sky says Allen Parsons, of The Allen Parsons Project fame.

Did anybody list to Final Cut with headphones yet? I'm curious to see what you think if you haven't done it before.

I'm in.
So many great themes/lyrics to base a photo on.

Hey, I just realized I did a Floyd lyric too:

"Sail on the steel breeze."

Don't know exactly what the connection was to the pic, but I think I liked the BW conversion because it looked "steely."

Funny - I was never a huge Floyd fan. Not sure why. But I'd love the challenge of interpreting one of their songs or lyrics in a challenge. Count me in.

i do it a few times a month. might be why i love it so much. i have listened to a very large portion of my music in my life through headphones. In about 1980 when i was 6 my mom bought me some good headphones(the big ones that had the giant jack)because she was tired of hearing KISS over and over again. i just kinda kept with that for most of my life.

Starting in 1964, the band that would become Pink Floyd underwent various line-up and name changes such as "The Abdabs", "The Screaming Abdabs", "Sigma 6" and "The Meggadeaths" (not to be confused with Megadeth). In 1965, Barrett joined them as "The Tea Set", and when they found themselves playing a concert with a band of the same name, Barrett created the name "The Pink Floyd Sound" (later "The Pink Floyd"). He derived the name "Pink Floyd" juxtaposing the first names of Pink Anderson and Floyd Council he had read about in a sleeve note by Paul Oliver for a 1962 Blind Boy Fuller LP (Philips BBL-7512): "Curley Weaver and Fred McMullen, (...) Pink Anderson or Floyd Council -- these were a few amongst the many blues singers that were to be heard in the rolling hills of the Piedmont, or meandering with the streams through the wooded valleys".

Damn Wiki! :-P

I don't know the answers to the questions!
I can't remember much...but I like Pink Floyd.

Which one is Pink??

I have all the albums, but I'm having a Momentary Lapse of Reason, I need Money, but Time is running out! Was that the Division Bell?

Hello?? Is there Anybody Out There?

Ahhh! Is there anybody in there??

You are correct! At the time I thought the Alan Parsons Project was just a rip-off PF wannabe. These days when I listen to the Project, it is really some good music and mixing. Either way, all their songs remind me of high school and college.

Oh well. Here's hoping it shows up for the Open challenges, though Advanced Editing would be nice.

Meddle:
One of these days, I'm gonna cut you into little pieces!

1)Wish You Were Here
2)The Wall
3)Dark Side
4)Animals (saw that live in Oakland)
5)the one with Echoes/Meddle?

Why hasn't this already been a challenge.. .
Man I could go crazy with a challenge like this...

The Trial
"Crazy toys in the attic I am crazy
Truly gone fishing
Crazy toys in the attic he is crazy
They must have taken my marbles away"

Stop

"Stop
I wanna go home
Take off this uniform
And leave the show
And I'm waiting here in this cell
Because I have to know
Have I been guilty all this time"

Breath The Delicate side of Floyd
