I have to share. I took my pearls for repair and cleaning over a year ago, and when they returned them to me they wrapped them in a white envelope. Well, I put it in my pocket, then couldn't find them. I checked every pocket in every jacket, looked in the bureau, under the bureau, even prayed to St. Anthony. I was ready to call the insurance company to tell them I lost them and to cancel the insurance. These were a gift from my husband over 20 years ago.
Well, today was stewardship Sunday, and I committed to giving a lot of money for the year. I also made lunch for the local shelter today (16 people, including children) and then came home to clean, still thinking about the pearls, which I have been doing nearly every day since losing them. I didn't even tell my husband about it.
So as I swept the bedroom today, there was a white envelope wedged just outside the bureau. I have moved that bureau, looked under it, swept under it dozens of times in the past year. Never found anything. I grabbed the envelope, opened it, and there were the pearls. I cried, I was so happy. It is the only piece of real jewelry I have, except for my wedding rings. Then I told my husband and he couldn't believe I never told him I lost them.
So, all I can say, is I did something right that was also helpful to others. It is such a delight. I can't have a bad week now, despite the fact that my morning scores and my lighting scores are the worse since my framing image, Show Me the Money. Too bad. Better luck with the next challenge. It can't make me angry or po'd that people don't "understand" my images. I agree with most of the comments. I guess I was sleeping when I entered them. |

That is fantastic! I know how frustrating it can be to lose something like that which means so much to you. Congrats!
BTW, you didn't happen to see a lens hood for the wide angle lens to a D70 in there too did you? :-/ |

There is a hole in everybody's house. It is in a different place on a daily basis. All those mittens, socks, underwear, nylons, end up going through the hole. Lens hoods, too. Every once in awhile, the hole burps, and something you lost comes out of it. I am sure that is where your lens hood is.
I lost a lens hood. I know just which field I lost it in, too. It is in Eagleville, in the field next to the train tracks. Can't go there any longer because of the no trespassing signs. One day, though, I'll risk it.
