Capture the essence of a subject in the landscape/ horizontal mode, rather than the usual portrait one. Capture a landscape in the vertical/ portrait orientation to enhance your scene or subject.
Even go so far as to say 480 X 640 o4 640 X 480 as the limitations of the pixel sizes. (oooh, maybe too many rules would be bad)

yes! Exactly. I always am enamored of a landscape done up and down for some reason. Oh, and don't forget the single tree. ;~p

Not sure this will meet everyone's idea of landscape, but this reflection has always been a favorite of mine...although it is better perfectly squared off!

Great idea! This challenge would encourage people to let go of their pre-conceived notions of how a portrait/landscape "should" be framed. |

This is one of my favorite crops for 'head and shoulder' shots.
I think this is a cool challenge idea.

You could trade it in for a Mamiya so your shutter won't jam like a hasselblad would. :p
I shoot in portrait orientation a lot, too. Since I don't do portraits, that pretty much leaves landscapes and wildlife to shoot that way. |
