I have been asked to take some photos for a local Dentist (through a friend that works for them), they want photos of their building and possibly staff pics. They have already had a Professional Photographer and needed extra pictures for their new website which isn't running yet I believe.
I haven't a clue what to charge them so hopefully someone can give me some advice to begin with. Just so I have some information ready when I contact them later today.
I've never done this sort of work before so...
Thanks!!
Heather

$50/hr for unlimited usage sounds about right for a non-professional. Edit the images and give final, edited versions to them to do with as they please. Charge them a 2-hour minimum, including as part of your time a reasonable amount of time for editing. As a rule of thumb, 1:1 ratio of shooting to editing is about right for simple projects. Don't show them *all* the pictures, just the ones you think are good enough after editing.
If he says this is high, then you're on your own, go as low as *you* feel comfortable doing, considering the experience you'll be getting.

Thanks Robt..that is good advice.
I am thinking to use the 50mm lens, and I now have the SB600 flash, so I should get some good results. Will also use the 28-105mm lens so I think I will be ok.
Two hours is the max I was thinking of, so glad to hear that is long enough, and enough to begin with. |
