This alternate shot went for a "wider" feel. I was strongly debating which one to go with. I am not sure if I made the right choice or not. I went with my entry cause I was worried the other had too much negative space around the conglomeration of duckies.

LOL ignore me now - It was beer ad. :P

Oh and you were right to go with the closer crop.

I wonder if someone is trying to prove a point :-)

You think so?

It was a real close toss up for me. I felt the closer crop might go over a little better with some voters. And the others would be indifferent. So i went with the tighter crop.

Though I kind of liked the feel of the larger border. I think I just preferred the landscape arrangement of duckies.

It was a hard choice. Originally, I wanted to have duckies all the way to the border. Sadly, that's only about 1/2 my duckies. The rest are packed in all different places at the moment.

:|

Poor packed duckies.

Demonstrating is perhaps a better term...but how many were quick in their first reactions. Thankfully, most did a double-take. And I am a fairly seasoned DPCer.

What if this was a new person. What if the first posters were not so re-observant. What if such reactions were a new DPCer's first experience. *shrug*

That's why the forum rules specifically say you should REPORT any non-conforming post, and NOT to call the poster out in public. Which, I might add, seems to be what most people are doing lately; seems to me I recall a time not that long ago when everyone would jump on the bandwagon at an instant's provocation.

I think some don't like using the report post button though, because they don't want to get the user in "trouble". Even if there aren't strict punishments for the "crimes" not many people like to be a rat. Ya know?

That's not making a lot of sense, inasmuch as if someone feels compelled to call another member out publicly for an inappropriate post, surely that's more of a negative than quietly reporting it and letting SC deal with it diplomatically? What I find corrosive is when a lot of individuals start telling other individuals how to behave, when we have an administrative staff (SC) that exists specifically to monitor the site and enforce the rules & guidelines...

seems the compromise here would be a polite PM to the person

You guys do know "off topic" conversions is also frowned upon? Where's that report button. :P

ETA: Either crop works for me but I believe you went with the right choice in that you eliminated the chances of the negative space nitpickers.

ROTFL

I almost said something but didn't. *lol*

This is why I find so many rules a great exertion of comedic proportions.

*lol*
