I'm getting a lot f noise in the reds of my pic and they seem to be a bit grainy even. Did I change a setting somewhere or is there bigger issues here. My WB settings could be flash, auto or even sunlight and I wind up with this effect. It also happens on my D70s. Not sure where I'm going wrong here. Any suggestions?

You might want to edit your post and change pis to pics or you might get alot of comments like red and grainy pis that must hurt ! etc...

can you post an example? what glass are you using? sounds like it could be high ISO to me. but I know not much. :-(

Oh and it doesn't look like your flash fired for some reason.

Brad, can you please describe the process for this result, step by step?
I really would like to know. I could use it if i knew how to do it.
Thanks.

I'll see what I can write up in the way of a basic workflow on this.
Do you have Photoshop? And if so, how experienced are you with it?
