That seems like the best bet. Leave the comment that you want to leave.

I've had some great comments from the pair of you, so that might add weight to your agreed strategy.

Here's my boy posing on up -

Day 16, another shelter resident, an adorable minilop bunny named George. We also have yet another iguana so there may be a lizard pic tomorrow, or I may have to just sneak in some bonus pix ;-)

I have a wealth of subjects between my gang and the shelter residents, so I haven't been at a loss for pix taken during the challenge period. I have been pressed for time the last few days so I have slacked off commenting but hope to get back into it tomorrow and catch up some. Not sure how useful all my comments are but if I don't leave any I'll never know ;-)))

Personally, I would *love* more technical comments from y'all and think I am learning from the ones I get. I don't mind the comments that tell me I captured a cute image, mind you, but I learn more when someone tells me specifically what I did well or could have done better.

With a "portrait" I want to try and convey something of the animal's personality, or what I anthropomorphize when I see him/her. To me the setting (studio vs. home) or pose (formal ... as formal as you can get with an animal ... vs. candid) doesn't matter as much as a well-composed and shot image with some personality. Even if it's the animal looking humiliated because s/he's in costume! If I screw up and have a background that's distracting or a technical flaw or the picture is boring to the viewer ... well, I don't mind someone telling me.

My 2 cents.

I have been really busy and have slacked on uploading my pics, but here are days 11 through 14. I too need to get some more commenting done, but thanks to all for your comments on my pics!

Here, Siggav, one for you :-) I thought of your cat the minute I saw her.

I think you must have looked into my mind and read exactly how I feel!!! I couldn't agree with more with the entire text of your post!!!!

I also think that these pictures are harder because they are like pictures of children.

I have a whole hard drive full of my children and my blue-eyec cat (a few of my horse and my husband's cat, DJ.) What I find intriguing about this thread is how people see their own pets and use their cameras to capture their personalities. I just think it's fascinating!!! On my photos, please feel free to comment or anything you are thinking or feeling or nothing at all. (However, if you use the word "dull," please do so creatively...LOL).

I invite you to comment, not by formula, but for the moment of your mind or heart.

I think they do. I have discovered that if I didn't 'bring' the props/camera to Spooky, I would simply have 30 pictures of her on the back of 'her' chair.

Mine certainly doesn't hibernate. Or she probably does but that's when I'm away working. She's still young though and filled with energy, sometimes literally bouncing off the walls.

Here's a photo of her back when she was really just a kitten
