I'm not sure if this has been suggested before but would it be possible to obtain the latest challenges when you are away from home?

When you go on holiday, if you've no computer access, then you may miss the opportunity to capture an image that may be a great candidate.

For instance, I'm off to Egypt tomorrow and I don't know what's coming up as far as challenges. If I did, then I may be in a good position to take a photo to enter.

Cheers

PM me your cell phone number, and I'll send you a text message

Thanks for the offer, although unfortunately I had internet problems before leaving and therefore did not see your post.

I'm surprised that nobody else has commented, perhaps it's just been suggested before or not thought of as a good enough idea!!

How would you suggest implementing such a feature?

I've suggested on several occasions the idea of scaled down notices. Text only. For sending to cell phones, pdas, etc.

Most cell phone companies provide a means to receive a short message from an email address. I know Verizon does. And I believe Cingular and Sprint do as well.

It'd make it easy. Just an option for a "mini-Message". In fact, some might opt for these for their regular accounts. But basically it'd be a simple email:

Subject = DPC date: Title of Challenge
Title +(A) or (B) to denote basic or advanced rule set.
Submission times
Name, description, + any yellow flag rules.

I'd love to have such a feature.

Most cell phones have a e-mail address that you can have text messages sent to. If you are going on vacation, I think it would be easy enough to change your e-mail address to that of your cell phone and get updates.

How about a cell phone camera challenge...only kidding, I get enough of that on myspace.
