I personally do not read blogs (not interested) and do not trust them.

Bit of a generalisation isn't it, to say you do not trust any blogs?
In essence, for example, news.bbc.co.uk is a blog, albeit a large one run by an organization. I trust that, and I trust other blogs written by smaller organizations or by individuals, some of which will give much "truer" accounts of things than a lot of places.

I just visited news.bbc.co.uk. It didn't mention that it's a blog. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I was referring to blogs by reporters, developers, who post blogs under their name (due to popularity) but funny thing is, why didn't they just include it on the official website where the news and press releases are located? Can we take their words (in blogs) as official? When things go wrong, will they simply say, "it's my blog, it doesn't represent XXX" ? |

The weblog term is overloaded. When it comes down to it though, any website with a primary purpose of regular updates along a specific theme is a weblog, be it a massive news repository, or Joe Public writing about the daily adventures of his five year old.
Do I believe every word of them all? No, of course not. But they are a valuable source of information. |

| It's possible that you are referring to a particular TYPE of blog, because there are so many types of blogs that I guarantee you can find one you are interested in. There are, for instance, many blogs about photography. |

I trust my blog :) (yea, shameless plug. click on that link and you will go to my PaD blog).
Seriously, though, I tend to take blogs with a grain of salt, unless the source is truly reliable. I see them more as a way to garner different opinions and outlooks. |
