I have been playing around making tiles out of some images, wonder if it could be a challenge... might be interesting (and would have to be set up (at least for the voting) in a different way than previous ones... as a background image of some sort).
examples:
Strawberries
Candy
Coffee beans
Pasta
...all in Icelandic (sorry!) and extremely out of date (my current site does not link to these pages).

I think this would be interesting. I used to have a program that would take a pic and adjust the edges so that it would look good tiled, much like yours do, but I can't remember its name. What do you use to make your tiles' egdes transition smoothly?
