I was pretty bummed at the low rating of my Free Study submission for last month... The cool news is that I was contacted about it by a video game developer and it looks like his company is going to license it to be a back splash image in one of their upcoming games.

Point of posting this... not sure exactly... maybe motivation for those that have pictures they really like that get low ratings... just because it gets low ratings here doesnt mean squat.

Congratulations!

I had a similar thing happen to me a while ago with some product photos I had on my smugmug site. A company rep saw them on my site, liked them, and decided to license them for use on their own web site.

It's very cool, isn't it? ;D

Congrats! Just because it doesn't get a high score in a contest doesn't mean it doesn't have merit! That is wonderful news!!!

I always thought this image was exceptionally good. Trouble is, my first thought was 'boy did this guy walk in the wrong door'. This ain't Oz, but it isn't really Kansas either so I'm glad you're still around and being rewarded in such an unexpected and promising way. Great job!
