I think it would be cool if when you enter an image and you select the camera, and lens that you also select the type of software that you used to edit the image. OS, Photo software, pluggins ect. Then you could look at what people are able to do with photoshop, gimp, neat image ect...

I guess that's not a bad idea on a volunteer basis. I think if you look under details you can sometimes know what they used. [if they listed them] Lots of folks will say PSP levels, or PS levels etc..
The best way for now is to just PM them and ask them what they did and what they used.
For some it's like giving recipe ingredients-they leave out the most important spice or herb. ;}

It would sort of be like when you look up images under lens to find out what the lens can do. You could also see what a particular program can do.

Being that this is phography not digital art site I don't think there is much difference what can be acomplished. I think it boils down to ease of use mostly. All programs can do simular stuff just by different means.

It would be interesting to know however what people used on images in stuff like the advanced challneges. Most people write it in the comments anyway. It would be cool though if it was part of the DB so you could look items up when searching. for example I would like to find some portraits that used neat image. I could just look them up. Then I could find those photos and study them for how I should be using neat image.
