I found a picture in the current glass challenge that I do not understand. It is a picture of a girl, but I don't see any glass in the photo at all...I wasn't sure if I should submit is as a DQ or not. I thought maybe I just misinterpreted the photo. I voted on the photo as if was legal...Unless the girl is made of glass I don't know what to think about this photo. Any advice on whether or not to send in a DQ or not, would be helpful. |

Not meeting the challenge is not DQable.

You should only request a DQ if you believe challenge rules were violated, and then do as you did and vote as if the photo is completely legal.
Failure to meet the topic of the challenge is explicitely NOT a grounds for DQ just because, as you say, you just might miss the connection. However, you can certainly consider how well or clearly it meets the challenge in deciding what score it deserves...

As above, when it's an issue of legality, request a DQ but vote as though the image were legal.
When it's an issue of simply not meeting the challenge as you see it, don't request a DQ and vote as you feel appropriate - knocking off as many points as you personally feel is fair for not meeting the challenge.
Where there is an image that blatantly doesn't match the challenge, in any way that I can possibly think of, I usually assume it's been entered into the wrong challenge though I must admit that I can't think of any challenges that the image you mention might have been intended for.
That said, I do think it's fairer not to single out and describe individual entries in current challenges here in the forums.

I did not intend to step on anyone's toes with this post. I appreciate the feedback. In the future I will not be specific, and I apologize......... |
