Well, it's been over a week, but I finally slogged through my photos from the DPC gathering in the Tetons and Yellowstone area. The DPC gathering consisted of Becky (rkjstesch), her charming husband, Greg, and me. Becky and Greg were very kind and drove me all around the state of Wyoming for the day! We were exhausted when we returned to Jackson in the evening. The entire day was spent photographing.

We began in the Tetons.

I had noted that several photographers had taken shots of a cabin or barn in front of the Tetons. Becky indicated that she knew where that was, so we went--to find it literally crawling with photographers! The silliest thing was that I was there among them all! These are the cabins at "Mormon Row" that so famously suit themselves to photos:

. . . . . . . . . .

We then went directly to Yellowstone, but upon reaching Ox Bow Bend, the scenery lent itself to some photos:

. . . . . . . . . .

Then it was Yellowstone, and we found lots of interesting things to shoot there. For Becky, it was TextureFest, but I was trying to get photos of geysers and hot pools that were actually interesting:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

That last one of Old Faithful is, at last, an interesting photo to me (after a few years of trying).

Some other Yellowstone shots:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Then it was back to the Tetons, homeward bound and scrambling to find a lovely site with interesting light. We found it at Jackson Lake:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Then a last gasp at light back at Ox Bow Bend:

. . . . . . . . . .

So what a fun trip! Best of all was simply meeting Becky and Greg!

To find more photos of this amazing area, take a look at Becky's--which she'll be posting shortly (hopefully), and you can also see my collection here.

Thanks for looking!

David

I've put a few up in my Tetons/Yellowstone folder in my profile.

The shot I've had the most fun processing is the Pano. It needs some work, but overall, I'm pleased.

With a few exceptions, these are shots from the top of Signal Mountain looking toward the Gros Ventre Mountains, or the Tetons. I got to shot a day before David made it to the area.

I'll post more over the next bit of time.

These shots are mostly taken on Friday before David got there.

Dang, I knew I should have sold the house, pawned the car and made the trip. Great Photos!

Some great work Becky! It was sure fun slogging around with you and Greg! I hope you get some more of yours up. I'm interested to see some of your textur-related photos.

I worked up some more of the shots. These are from Saturday, showing the Gros Ventre, the Tetons and a bit of Yellowstone.

Thanks, I'll try to get more shots up later. This is only a small portion of the shots I found interesting.

What a great opportunity to shoot.
