Hello everyone,

i'm finally starting to get quite a bit of print business, and i was wondering your input on some prices for prints.

here are my current prices, i would love to know your opinions. too expensive? too cheap? just curious. my work is here if you're interested to help set a price. i will not get my feelings hurt.
www.jrowephotography.com

4x6 : $6.00
5x7 : $12.00
8x10 : $20.00
11:14 : $32.00
8 wallets: $19.99 (kindof ? on this one)

like:
2 5x7 Prints,1 8x10 Print,8 Die-cut Wallets $55.00 (normally $64)
2 5x7 Prints,1 8x10 Print,1 11x14 Print $60.00 (normally $76)
4 5x7 Prints,2 8x10 Prints,24 Die-cut Wallets $125.00(normally $148)

all of these are up for comments or suggestions. i'm trying to be fair, but of course also make a profit, and pay back some of what i've put on equipment ;) aren't we all ? :)

thanks so much in advance.

The wallets are pretty high IMHO. Most packages give you 8 for around $5 (add-on) or about $8 by themselves.

I think your individual prices are fine for one off print purchases, however, when folks purchase in quantity of what fits on to a sheet, I like the to be prices accordingly. Simply because the material being delivered to the customer is the same.

For example, if you get your work printed on 8x10 sheets, if a customer wants 1 5x7 and only one you would charge them $12.00, but since 2 5x7 prints will fit on an 8x10 sheet, you simply inform them that they can get 2 for $20, the price of your 8x10 sheet. Same with 2.5x3.5 wallets, 8 will fit on an 8x10 sheet or 4 will fit on a 5x7 sheet. So, 4 wallets would be $12.00 or 8 for $20.00. Make sense? The exception to this is your 4x6 prints because they don't fit more than 2 per 8x10 sheet. However, you could always go with 10x13 or 11x14 sheets as well. I have found with me it pays to offer the discount for full sheets because the buyer feels like they are getting a deal when you shave a little off when they buy multiples of the image.

So I guess it would look something like this for 8x10 sheets:
4x5 : $6.00 each or 4 for $20
4x6 : $6.00 each
5x7 : $12.00 each or 2 for $20
8x10 : $20.00
11:14 : $32.00
8 wallets: $20.00

2 5x7 Prints,1 8x10 Print,8 Die-cut Wallets $55.00 (normally $60)
2 5x7 Prints,1 8x10 Print,1 11x14 Print $60.00 (normally $72)
4 5x7 Prints,2 8x10 Prints,24 Die-cut Wallets $125.00(normally $140)

Hope that all makes sense... Just an opinion of course.
