I suggest the votes discarded should show up in the breakdown even if they do not count toward the final score (a different color or something). I viewed my photo 30 minutes or so before the end of the challenge. I had 203 votes with a score of 5.6xx. After the challenge my total votes are 196 with a score of 5.58xx. The score is what it is and that is ok with me. Although I would like to know which category(s) the 7 votes were removed.
The scores are removed for whatever reason the system has set up and I agree with the reasons I have read in past threads. What I would like to know is if the removal of the scores resulted in a lower or higher score. This cannot be determined unless I am viewing my image at the very end of the challenge.
I hope this makes sense.

That would be cool to see. |

When I've been able to see the just-before and just-after rollover vote total and score, the score usually goes up a bit, whcih means a few low votes are being discarded. |

I've had scores drop twice due to it. Would be cool to see what exactly was removed (and even cooler to see some generic message as to why). |

This would require computing the entire challenge result twice, and then comparing each individual score and computing a difference. |

So far, my scores have gone up due to this., mostly by .1 or so.

Think the idea is just to take the votes 'it' is scraping off and stick them in a bucket for display. Not a recalc of the score.
Discarded Votes:
1's - 2
2's - 5
...
...
10's - 2 |

I'm curious as to how knowing what the discarded votes were (and especially a breakdown of them) would help in any way? They're invalid votes that were rejected, and shouldn't really have attention drawn to them any more than they currently are (IMO)...

Aye. I think you're heading down a dangerous path with the idea of showing discarded votes. It can only lead to people moaning about how their entry would have been in nth place, were it not for the missing votes. |

I really don't think this would be a good benefit. If we did get a breakdown in votes that was tossed then we would be wanting to know why they were tossed (i.e. low voting, high voting, didn't get to 20%, etc.). I believe we have other improvements to the site that would be more beneficial. Just my 2 cents.

For Free Study 13 my last posted update, which was the same to rollover was:
Votes: 214
Avg Vote: 6.0748
My final tally:
Votes: 202
Avg (all users): 6.0743
A slight drop in score for 12 votes. Leads me to believe they were mostly voters that didn't make 20%, rather than troll/fairy voters, since the average of the 12 dropped votes is close to my overall average.
Edit: I'm not sure the site needs any more tools that could possibly lead members to start troll hunts :-)

I can't see any benefit of this beyond idle curiosity. Simply, those votes don't count. It doesn't matter what they MAY have been, and that can only lead to more "what if"s. |

My experience has been like yours. About eight times out of ten my scores drop sometimes significantly at the turnover.
