How about a Mother's Day Speed Challenge for Sunday? For one thing everyone has had a Mother at some point in there life, and should be able to represent at the very least the unconditional love a mother gives her child.

kinda defeats the purpose of a speed challenge if it is known ahead of time, and it may be a sensitive subject for a lot of people

Mother's day is not celebrated on the same dates depending on where you live. I know that the US, France and Switzwerland had different dates last year for example; probably a conspiracy orchestrated by the Dutch flower industry.

Now I thought maybe it was a conspiracy created by Hallmark to be able to constantly being pushing greeting cards somewhere in the world, but now you may have cleared that up by saying the flower industry.

What about, not being facetious here, a 'Portrait of Your Mother or Other Mother Figure' challenge?

You can read one version of the history of Mother's Day here. I would also like to get away from basing the speed challenges on holidays, and maybe especially this one.

i am not in favour of a Mother's day challenge

we had mothers day here in the uk on march 30th

plus why have a speed challenge when you have days to prepare for it?

it should be spontaneous,

a true measure of a photographer should be measured by the contents of their speed challenge - to adapt a phrase.
