Hey, is there anyone out there who would be willing to be my mentor? I keep coming out really happy with the photographs I take, but apparently they're not that great, considering the scores and comments I get. I know I still have so much to learn, and would love to find someone on here willing to teach me. I keep submitting these pictures and they come out with very few comments (with one exception). I need someone I can show my pictures and they will give me an honest, constructive criticism on how to take and make my pictures better. Any help would be so much appreciated.

:-)

Rather than looking for an individual, Just browse the site. Look at past challenges and see what (at least in the eyes of the voters) is considered to be a good photograph.

Browse the forums and read people discussing techniques-
try the "learn" tab and read over the tutorials and How did they do that!? sections

This whole site is about mentoring. Don't just look for one person, there's a whole community.

I find the name "squishy" so appealing that I'd be willing to mentor, if you wish :-)

Ha Ha! The name pays off for something after all! ;-)

Thanks, Bear. I'll take any help you can offer. Will you look at my challenge entries and tell me what you think?

No, but I'll encourage you to send me a long, introspective e-mail (mine's on profile) about your goals, your self-analysis of your images, what you hope to gain from the mentorship so we can forge a common ground and work from there. If we are "compatible" I'll create "assignments" for you and so forth and so on. Are you up for it?

By the way, I wouldn't have offered if I didn't see potential :-)

My e-mail, not my list, grasshopper. I shall read and ponder your missive tomorrow when I am alert and eager.
