How about a Mother's Day Speed Challenge for Sunday? For one thing everyone has had a Mother at some point in there life, and should be able to represent at the very least the unconditional love a mother gives her child. |

kinda defeats the purpose of a speed challenge if it is known ahead of time, and it may be a sensitive subject for a lot of people |

Mother's day is not celebrated on the same dates depending on where you live. I know that the US, France and Switzwerland had different dates last year for example; probably a conspiracy orchestrated by the Dutch flower industry. |

Now I thought maybe it was a conspiracy created by Hallmark to be able to constantly being pushing greeting cards somewhere in the world, but now you may have cleared that up by saying the flower industry. |

No Mothers Day in Korea, but the 8th (today) is Parents Day. This year it happens to coincide with stat holiday Buddha's Bday. |

What about, not being facetious here, a 'Portrait of Your Mother or Other Mother Figure' challenge?

You can read one version of the history of Mother's Day here. I would also like to get away from basing the speed challenges on holidays, and maybe especially this one.

i am not in favour of a Mother's day challenge
we had mothers day here in the uk on march 30th
plus why have a speed challenge when you have days to prepare for it?
it should be spontaneous,
a true measure of a photographer should be measured by the contents of their speed challenge - to adapt a phrase. |
