How about a challenge where we catch people at work, doing their jobs? I'm sure we could get some pretty cool candid pictures. Even construction workers building something is interesting to me.

The only problem with that is a lot of businesses do not allow cameras onto the property. I work in a phone center and they won't let me bring mine. And it would be a little weird (for me anyway) to go into some random place and ask to take a picture of their establishment. I may be able to fanagle my way into it though...

I think that's an awesome idea. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I think it is a really cool idea. I swear though I am not going to show my paying job, but I can already think of a few things that could be interesting.

I like this idea but it was done not so long ago (9-15 Dec 2002) as Your Occupation, although this was before my time.

However, if this were to be revisted, I definitely would not try to photograph my workplace. It would be way too BORING! And in 3 weeks time, I'm going to be leaving my job and joining the ranks of the happily unemployed. 20 working days and counting...

Well, yes, we did have Your Occupation already. Let's wait a bit. (my opinion).

As for thinking a subject is boring.. half the challenge in photography in general is to make the viewer think it is exciting. Take a boring subject, and express it in a fantastic way.

I guess I was thinking more about other people's jobs (my job wouldn't be worthy of photography). It would be a very candid challenge I think. No more still-life photography anyways, personally I'm getting sick of still-life.

Don't bet on it, there are a few artist around here that might just take a photo of some of their supplies, and a few gardners who would do a macro of a flower, I can see quite a few still lifes with this.
