This may be true, but it came across (to me) as a blatant "sex sells" type image. Not as strong/blatant as some I've seen shoehorned into challenges, as your photo does have a pinup calendar feel to it. But still it's like "hey, I've got this great naked chick shot...".
Every subject has it's place at times and just about anything popular will find it's way shoehorned into a challenge occasionally (nudes, butterflies, sunsets, waterdrops, etc...). Most of the time the voters see thru it (on avg anyway) and mark the challenge entry accordingly. |

Then stop complaining and lets get this thread back on topic. Discussing nudity in voting comparisons.

Nudes are fine as long as the model is good to look at. |

Well, as far as I know, this forum rule still stands AND the subject line of this thread DOES state "no nudes, just a question" - so there could be some people surprised by it.
Refresher on forum rule #7:
"When posting potentially adult content, include a warning. When possible, include the warning in your subject line. If you are posting in an existing thread, consider carefully whether the content is appropriate for the thread. If it is, include a warning at the beginning of your post. Unless your warning is in the subject line, any images must be linked rather than thumbnailed or posted directly." |

Fine...to keep everyone happy...I have removed the image. I will now leave you all to your discussion at hand.

So it's obvious nudes get a lot more 1s, 2s and 3s than other types of photos but what about the other end of the spectrum? Do nudes get on average more 8s, 9s and 10s? Just curious. Not saying it averages out or anything just wondering.

I thought nude photos would show up in the forums as "adult content" and the actual image wouldn't show for those that have that filter enabled? What's the point of the nude filter if it doesn't do that? I could have sworn it use to do that.

Some of the older images in the nude galleries aren't flagged as nude by the system. I wnet through and made sure mine were. It's pretty easy for the photog to fix it himself, but you have to turn on the filter and see what images of yours aren't being hidden.

methinks there is a bit of an issue with *how* hidden nudes are being dealt with right now.
When I'm logged in, I can see nudes, but nothing in a post *SAYS* that it has been flagged as a post containing nudity.. soooooooooooooo...
That can be very confusing.
Just a thought.
I'ma email SC and see if that's being worked on.

30 9+ votes to 13 2- votes. If that's the sort of beating a nude photo takes, I really need to hook up with some nude models. |

I wnt through and made sure all my nudes (or potentially offensive images, including that "pic which must not be mentioned") were hidden. I encourage everyone with nudes in his/her portfolio to turn the filter on and look through portfolio through your profile (public view).
If you see a nude that is not being hidden, go to edit details and make sure it is in the nudes gallery and then click save changes.

Can everyone edit their details or only members? I've wanted to edit details before, but couldn't figure out how to do that once the details are submitted. If I can I'll probably mark my recent entry as a nude because it suggests nudity, but I didn't mark it as such when I entered it because I didn't think of it as a nude. Anyway, instructions on how non-paying participants can edit their details would be most helpful.
thanks :) |

As far as I know, registered users can't edit details of their images. However, if you send a PM to an SC with the image ID, I'm sure one of them will put it there for you.

Thanks fotoman, thats what I thought.
There is a way to edit the text details before the end of voting if the person didn't request a critique and hadn't entered the details when he/she submitted the photo. But, its only the text details and not the other things like galleries, camera settings and such.
