I've got a bunch of shots I want to do a "quick and dirty" processing on - autolevels, sharpen, resize, save as, name as "Something img-nmbr" where the something will be the same word and the image number is obviously the image number.
So far I have actions to do the levels, sharpen, and resize bit. But I can't figure how to do the save as and name bit. And is there any way to do the actions to a whole group of shots at once rather than one at a time?
Much grasses for assistance! |

| There is way to do that...when you are recording an action in that process do a "Save As" and save the image and then stop your action. once you have action, do batch processing, I guess it will do save as with a random number attached with the name though I haven;t tried it out yet :) |

I think Konador did a free video tutorial for this on his website. It worked great for me with simple and advanced processes. I included a neat image and a bit of layer specific sharpening as well with PS 7.0.
EDIT: It seems he did.

| Why don't you batch process them, then batch re-name them once the processing is done, with some other software (Available free on the web)...? |

Digital Photo Professional came with your Canon... Don't matter if you are doing jpg or raw.
Have a copy of all the photos you want to fix in a single folder.
Edit the first one to your liking.
Close the Editing window.
Right click on the one you fixed...choose Copy Recipe to Clipboard
Ctrl+A (or Select All button in menu bar) to select all images in folder.
Right click any of the images...choose Paste Recipe onto Selected Image
You will be prompted "Are you sure you want to copy recipe to all Images"...Select Yes
Exit the folder or program and it will prompt "Images have been changed, do you wish to save"...choose Save All...
(or you can choose batch edit from File drop down and change name, format, DPI etc to save your recipe applied images)

| Excellent info - thanks to all! Will save me lots of time when I make "snapshot" disks for friends. I don't always shoot for DPC.... :-) |
