Southern California bend over and take it.
1,368 sq ft, 3BR, 1 BA, 2 car Gar, 7,100 sq ft lot.
All this can be yours for the low price of $520,000
(based on local comps in the neighborhood)

(thank goodness I owe under $190K - I couldn't afford to buy it today!)

You guys with the $750K+ homes in CA should move here ;)

Check out this neighborhood. Homes are 1 million + but they are up on a hill overlooking the river, have about 2-5 acre lots, and are elegant, custom designed houses. No I don't live in one ;)

Here's more info. Check out the interiors!

One of the examples:

An easy traffic flow between living room, sunroom, family room, kitchen and patios is wonderful for entertaining. Included in the 6,200 Sq.Ft. living space are 5 bedrooms, 5 ½ baths, large kitchen pantry and second floor laundry. Built by Journeymen Builders. Fact sheet available on request.

OFFERED AT $1,500,000.00

Not bad I guess for 6200 square feet. ;)

No housing bubble ready to burst here in San Antonio. We are so far behind national cost growth it almost funny. Here's an example of new homes here, and they are real nicely built in great new neighborhoods. Even with $20 more custom a 3500 square ft home is easliy under $300k. Many great 3400 sq ft homes all brick etc etc can be bought for less than $200k.

That house, built as you described it, would sell for around 6 million in my area. I live in a very rural area in Western North Carolina, mostly mountainous, and our home prices are comparable to, or more than, those of Atanta, GA. (The nearest *large* city) It is absolutely freaking crazy right now.

The only thing 200K will get you here is a doublewide on about 1/2 an acre or land, or a 2bd/1b "cottage" that would make a good fixer upper.

Glad I'm not having to buy a house right now.
