I had my first paid, non family senior shoot on Saturday. The kids was a blast to work with. He followed direction well, smiled non stop, and brought good music! haha

His mom and I had discussed the types of shots we wanted and I told her about an idea I had to set a volley ball on fire. She was thrilled with the idea and kept it a secret from her son. When they got to my house, he had forgot his ball in the car. He asked mom to go get it... but I said, "Don't worry... I have a ball. Plus, I don't want to ruin yours" He looked at me funny and I explained what we were going to do. He was so excited! He kept asking me during the shoot, "Is it time to set the ball on fire yet?" haha

I am very proud of how they came out, for my first time. This was also the first time that I got to use the wall my hubby and dad built for me. The side that is in my studio is all brick, so I can use it for seniors. I also scored 4 lockers on Freecycle and painted them silver. I am going to have to repaint them... the silver reflects WAY too much light.

Anyways.... here are my favorite shots from the shoot.

And..... the firey goodness!

Comments and critiques are wonderful! :)

Thanks guys!
Lorrie

Nice shots. Two questions

1 - what did you use to set the ball on fire

2 - how much do you get paid for this sort of work? (whatever approximation you are comfortable sharing, if any, would be great)

I used rubber cement. It burns nice and blows out fast.

You can check out my pricing on my website. The senior prices are under current specials on the main page.

I don't think he will like the first one, he looks kind of feminine.

All the others are great.
