How much will it cost. I've searched and all I can find is this site It quotes a price in some currency that I am not familiar with. Does anybody know what that means in USD?

I quite like my 18-200 and OS would only make it better.

That site lists some prices in British Pounds... However, the price for the 18-200 OS appears to be listed as 'not yet confirmed in the UK'...

Perhaps they changed something on you...

Don't be too anxious about it either... let the lens be released and have the bugs get worked out of it first... Sigma's got a bit of a name for having compatibility issues... and doing a whole lot of nothing about them after the purchase is made.

It's 3.5-6.3. Kinda slow......no?

Added: Tamron is launching a 18-250mm F3.5-5.6. You can read about it here.

Ipersonally think that such a vast range on any lens is simply too much to expect 1 lens to do without there being problems

18-250..WOW. I just think its too much for 1 lens to handle. I have an 80-400 so i am just as guilty but I also think THAT lens does too much range and it suffers for it.

Im sure in years to come they will perfect it all and there will be superb 8mm - 300mm f2.8-3.5 ... hahaha dream on huh? it would be the size of moped and just as heavy.

I've been thinking of upgrading from the 18-125 to the 18-200. But I wanted IS so I was even thinking of trading my gear and getting the Nikon D80 + their 18-200 VR.

If this lens turns out to be good, at least in my current 18-125 range then I'm buying it!

The Nikon 18-200 VR is rated really well so it is "possible" to produce a great lens in this range. No lens is perfect at the "ends" anyway. (My Sigma 18-125 gets quite mixed reviews online but I love it! I don't know if it's a quality control issue or differences in expectations.)

Thanks for calling my attention to this.
