Easy.
The best of anything I had this month has already been shared/shown in my portfolio.
(which wasn't much of anything to begin with)

I think I've got a ribbon entry. Okay, just kidding. But I think my free study will be my first entry to place in the top 25%, maybe even top 10%.
(if it falls into the bottom 5% I will likely be putting my camera gear up in the for sale/trade forum) *lol*

Something always bugged me about using an image that has already been shared, as it is no longer anonymous, though it happens on month-long challenges. Saw quite a few that I've already seen during the month.
Oh well, I'll pretend I havent..... |

Sometimes...
You just have such a great shot though, and you really want to know how it would do. And, often in the big scheme of things. Only a handful will have actually seen a foto made public. |

Testing the waters to see what sort of reaction a photo would get in a challenge should also be against the rules, intentional or not. |

Hmmmm, I've been thinking about getting a canon to go with my nikon. What kind of lens goes with it? lol
Looks like we'll be voting all week. I'll try to do my usual 100 percent on any I enter. It's gonna be tough.

Think there are 2 different directions here.
1) Someone shares an image on this site, then realize it's their best of the month, hides it or removes it and uses it for the challenge. That happens and typically no way around it, but not against the rules per say.
2) Someone has an image out on many websites, their own sites or other contest sites, sometimes to test the waters, sometimes just to share. Again it happens, and no real way around it, nor against the rules per say.
What is against the rules, is once it's in the voting stage, promoting it, sharing or making mention of it being on this site, or making it known out on their websites that it is in competition at dpchallenge is not allowed. |

I don't much like it when people do that. It seems so pathetic in a way. But that's just me, it's not "against the rules" to do it. Hmphr.

Hence why I am on the sidelines for this one - I already shared anything even remotely potential here
My bad.

edit:
going down hill fast... guess voters don't like my picture as much as I do... one of those pictures that I grew to like. Oh well.

I am loving the many street photo images that have made their way into this free study. That thread really started something. |
