This is one of those pick your favorite picture threads with a twist. You may only post once. Take some time and pick your all time favorite image on the DPC site. And if you can tell us what it is that makes it your favorite. I'll start

scalvert has my favorite shot. There is nothing I can find that I do not like about this shot! I love the creativity! I could just see this picture hung in classrooms around the world with some creative and insperational quote on it. WTG scalvert.

Edited to add the image I forgot :) Add change a typo of a wrong word :)

This is so easy

by jaded_youth. I saw this photo and was mesmerized. It was so good, technically perfect. And all of the shapes and textures work so well together.

relaxing the rules a bit, if you have more then one favorite you may post them, but you may only post once :)

Editing your post is allowed too. You just can't remove an image only add.

I'm Queen of the edit button btw!!

I like the "one favorite" idea though ...
so here:

Reason: This photo is broken up into 2 planes of reality ...
the juxtoposition of ideas and elements is amazing.
Reality vs. that which flickers in front of us every day.
This photo has everything.

OK ... i couldn't resist ... This one is a great contrast to my other fave (a moment in nature where beauty is so natural and perfectly photographed).

I am only gonna post two -

First -
Not only is this an amazing shot but having seen the original it showed amazing postprocessing. This picture opened my eyes to see not just the picture captured but the potential in that initial capture through editing.

Next -
This is a totally biased choice. This is probably one of the best pictures I have of my son and it was taken by my wife. I love everything about it as it just seems to capture the essence of my boy.

This was really hard, because I have some great shots in my favorites list. For the most part they are all wildlife.

I have a tie with by Cutter

and

by micknewton

The first one is awesome because of the pose. It really screams "I give up!" The second one is just beautiful on so many levels.
