Ok here's the deal. I'm starting my free Senior portrait thing this year. I intented on doing it last year but some things came up and I didn't get around to it.
I contacted the Principle at my daughters High School and told her to pick a deserving student that would like senior photos but otherwise couldn't afford to get them done professionally. I plan to do this on a yearly basis if all works out well.
I don't have the best photoshop skills in the world, so I was wondering if one of you photoshop gurus that do lots of portraits would be willing to do some editing on the photo the kid chooses or at least help me to edit them. I would like the student to get the best quality photos they can possibly get and be just as proud of them as the kids who paid $600 for theirs.

Thanks in Advance,
Dave

I'm not a photoshop guru but kudos to you for making this offer and some kid is going to be very blessed by your efforts.

What will you need?
How many? Sizes? Crops? Fixing?
Just one recipient right? Proofs too?

A very kind gesture, Dave. I'd recommend a certain "stud" for the job. ;-) I would volunteer, but I think others are much better at photo retouching than me. ...unless the kid wants flames shooting out of their eye sockets or something a little more edgy and unique - then count me in. ;-)

But since I opened my mouth, I feel obligated to at least say that if nobody better comes along, I'll help out.

edit: ...Doh! I knew the stud would come to the rescue.

...but still keep me in mind if they ask for flames or blood or something.

I'm not sure yet what I will need. I figured I would give him/her an hour or so of time and let them choose when and where they would like the photos taken. Afterwards I will put them on a CD let him/her decide which pose or photo he/she likes and go from there. I may not need any help with the editing but it will be nice to know if I run into a problem or don't like they way they look, some one will be able to help with it. I'm not sure what kinda packages studios offer the kids for senior portraits but I was thinking something like 20-wallet size, a couple of 5x7 and a couple of 8x10?

Thanks guys for the help. If I need ya Ken I'll let ya know. You to Brad.

No-edit proofs on a CD to make a choice from sounds like a good idea.
After that, and if help is needed, don't hesitate to ask. All it would take is to edit in an A3 size and printer can do the rest to make smaller sizes from it. Bets to add a small white border too in final print, that way the printer has a bit of fufdge-factor and a mat won't cover any of the image.

Thanks Brad. We'll see how it goes.
