I would pick me up one of these.

LOL... I don't have enough processng power to deal with 39MP images.

That thing is definitely sweet though.

One of those cameras you can just point in the general direction and worry about cropping the perfect photo later.

Not that I would ever do that........

nah I don't thinks so :)

I've been working with a film-Hasselblad, and it's pretty "hard". I think you'll be much more careful what you do. + it's hard to compose, because it's mirrored ;-)

I like Hasselblads. Always wanted a film-one.

Just got back from the Photokina and I had this baby in my hands and took a photo with it....... droooooooool! The sound of the shutter is an undescribable sound which is still reverberating around my head now. That camera is one awesome piece of work. I want it!!!!

What's funny is when you click on that link, the top left picture shows a display with what looks to my 'out of the loop' eye to be something like a mercedes or aston martin and on the other side shows the H3D.

Kinda like a trade-in offer... bring us one of these fine cars and we'll give you an H3D... we'll even throw in a petal style Hasselblad hood!

If ya can't afford that, check the new Sigma SD14. With 4.6 effective megapixels, I'd bet a couple of bucks that it'll give my little old 30D a serious run for it's money.

Both Foveon and Hasselblad use full color photosites.

Sorry but I found it to be a bit ugly.. looks like a grey and black dirt devil or hedge trimmer.. for sure it will take AMAZING photos and the technology and lens system is WOW too but come on ... it IS damn UGLY!

I wouldn't swap my Mercedes 280SLC for it (if i had one)

Agree with pix-al UGLY FUGLY

That's a Bugatti.

Buy a Bugatti and you get a Hasselblad for free. :)

Man, it was such a nice picture taking machine.
And so was the older H2D. But they also had this incredibly kickass 100mm macro, Canon L looks like a very cheap third party brand compared to that.

BTW, the Zeiss 1700mm looks like a Startrek model, Jeez it was big and ugly.

I used a film-Hasselblad many many years ago. It was like being given the keys to the top end Rolls Royce for a test drive - and then told to go back to your Trabants! Wonderful camera but hideously expensive at the time.

Roll forward to now and it sounds like the same deal applies: Rolls Royce, hideously expensive - and yet utterly desirable! Thank the major deities that I cannot afford one nor even desire one as I am much more mature now. On second thoughts, scrap the maturity bit :-(

there's a good side to the digital medium format madness =)
