something i've never understood.
i'm in the purple challenge. i've got 94 votes, 195 views.
isn't it just as easy to vote (even a low score) as it is to click next or back on the browser.
i'm curious as to why people look at a photo but not vote for it ... since the aim of the challenge is voting.
what are other people's thoughts?

most likely some people just want a looksee.... and others will go back and look again.
There was a recent challenge where my entry had almost tripple? the views than votes.. and it still didn't do very well L()L...
Just one of those great mysteries we will never solve.

I took a quick looksee the other day but didn't have the time to invest in a vote. A couple of them caught my eye so I took a closer look.
Today, I started the voting process as I am trying to comment on each one on this one. There are a lot to do in these challenges.
So that may be one reason for the differences.

Sometimes, I feel some kind of laziness: "I'd rather move to another pic than I begin thinking of vote".
And sometimes the photos are dull and standard that I don't see which ever score suites them - neither they are good in author's personal view and ideas, nor that bad in technique. Of course, I would be expected of giving a middle score. But I don't.
I'd rather give a high score to the originality or give a bad score for a certain flaw. |

I'll page through a challenge after rollover and view whatever thumbnails grab my interest. It's too late at night to sit and vote and I like to vote on all of them in one sitting when I do get around to it. |

maybe because you kept looking at your own submission and it is counted into the total views? Just a guess. |

lol
possibly, but i've only opened my submission once, to read a comment i received. that doesn't account for the other 100 times it's been viewed but not voted for.
just my opinion, i think it's as easy to vote as it is to view. when i view a challenge i always vote before leaving the picture. just because it's easy enough to do ... although i have to admit i was pretty frustrated by the number of purple flowers in this challenge. there's gotta be nearly 200 flower shot!

Guilty! Today at work I had just enough time to view the entries but my video card/monitor stinks there so I did not vote (in all fairness to the entries). So count me as a view/not vote kinda gal sometimes :) |

I wanted to stay away from the florals on this one and ended up missing the deadline. It would have been so easy!

I'm on my second pass through Rain. I voted the first time and now I'm going back and commenting. That means a 2:1 view/vote ratio from me :) |

I'm sorry, I missed the view vs votes part of this?
Anyway...
Quite frequently I'll scan the thumbnails and take a peek at those that jump out at me. Usually I'll use the post comment feature to view it. Sometimes I'll even comment! :D |

I would be happy if my image got way more views than votes (most images usually do, not just yours or mine). It means people are coming back for 2nd or third looks, possibly even bumping up your score. I know I often go back and look at the photos I've scored 8, 9 and 10 simply because they are my favourites and I like looking at them!
